Malaysia Practiced Widespread Torture

"The Malaysian government does not punish officers for their actions. Instead, it trains officers how to conduct caning and pays them a bonus for each stroke. Many double their income through their caning work. Others take bribes to intentionally miss, sparing their victims"

Akin to a Death Sentence

This article from Patrick Lee who wrote to Free Malaysia Today best describe the facts of the recent price hikes in sugar, fuel and gas.

Don't forget that the majority of Malaysians today are a poor lot with 57.8% of the total house holds earning less than RM3,000 a month and another 12.9 % of the households earning between 3 to 4 thousand ringgit a month. These are the greater majority of people making up 70.7 % of total households and certainly the umnoputras are not in this category they are in the upper 5 % category living in 24 million ringgit homes.

Tengku Razaleigh on Corruption in Malaysia

Below is an extract of the speech by Umno veteran politician Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah at the launch of ‘The Shafee Yahaya Story – Estate Boy to ACA Chief’, a book written by Shafee’s wife Kalsom Taib.

The word ‘corruption’ comes from a Latin word meaning ‘to break’ or ‘to destroy’. Corruption is a cancer that steals from the poor, eats away at governance and moral fibre, and destroys trust.

Although corruption exists in both the private and public sector, the corruption of the public sector is a more fundamental evil. This is because the public sector is the enforcer and arbiter of the rules that hold us together, the custodians of our common resources.

The White Tiger Part II

Cycles
Cycle is defined from a mathematical and scientific viewpoint as a basic permutation that is caused by a force and that all permutations are a product of cycles. There had been an earlier description of cycle in the earlier article of the Year of the Tiger. This is part of a series of articles which is intended to be published here during this period of the Chinese New Year celebrations, which is part of an ongoing research and study over many years.

Anwar Ibrahim to Ride the White Tiger of 2010?

Gong Xi Gong Xi! Wishing all a Happy Chinese New Year!

In view of the Lunar New Year we will explore and take a peep at what's up ahead in the year of the White Tiger, based on cycle analysis of Chinese astrology, the year of the Metal Tiger, popularly called the Golden Tiger and here we will refer to it as the White Tiger because the color white in Chinese elemental cycles of the five elements white is the colour of the metal element.

Year of the Tiger - What Portends in 2010

Year of the Tiger – What Portends in 2010

The beginning of the New Year of 2010 and the beginning of a new decade and as we ponder on happenings of the past we will naturally wander into and about the future.

For ages since the beginning of civilization people’s thoughts are into the eternal space of time flowing from the future to the past as in “coming and going” in an encyclical nature. (He he, yes , the past comes from the future in meta-psychics and returns to the past...)

The study of cycles is today universal as with the study of astronomy or physics which is the concept of frequency and frequencies as in occurrence and oscillation (oscillate; as from a psychics, binary or mathematical perspective). Any discipline of study will never be complete without the study of its cycle or the forces of it.

Humanitarian Crisis in Malaysia?

Malaysia in a Humanitarian Crisis?
Today six more migrants die in detention!

Malaysia will soon be famous for "Death" with the numbers of people dying in detention. The nation made world headlines with the death of Teoh Beng Hock and till todate there has been no outcome from police investigation although an inquiry is being held and is on going.

It looks like the authorities are at a loss at how to resolve all these problems which  may now be in a crisis situation. The numerous  and repeated complaints and reports made by international and local humanitarian institution had fallen on deaf ears and it seems the government is still in denial or either in defiance as no solutions or any attempt to correct this inhuman situation have been presented.

Leaders to be Selfless

"The Universe is Impartial and Selfless,
It Treats All Things Equally, Showing Neither Like Nor Dislike, And the Sage Ruler Acts in Accordance, Impartial and Selfless and All are Equal in His Eyes"
- Lao Tze -

Political Thoughts

Dr Mahathir yesterday in an interview with Bernama and as reported by the Star titled “Dr.M urges leaders to be selfless”.

He said “A leader should not do anything that will destroy the party” and added that the leaders should realize it was the party that had given them their status today.

Dr Mahathir also said they must understand it was the party that was more important, not individuals.

We Want a Clean and Fair Election

Bagan Pinang is one of the four state seats in the parliamentary constituency of Teluk Kemang in Port Dickson of Negeri Sembilan and the only state seat held by UMNO in the Parliamentary of Teluk Kemang. The Election Commission has fixed October 11 (Sunday) for the polling day and nomination of candidates is on October 3 (Saturday). There has been inconsistency in the fixing of polling days in the recent past few by-elections with polling days being fixed on a working weekday in opposition held seats.

There are a total of 13,644 registered voters in this state by election of which 4,604 voters are registered as postal votes making up a big share of 33.74% of the total votes. There have been many constant grouses on the anomalies of postal votes and one of the concerns raised by Bersih (Coalition for Clean and Fair Election) an alliance of about 70 civil society organization and several political parties which held a mammoth rally of about 100,000 peaceful protesters in November of 2007 calling for clean and fair election.

The Quintessence of Strategy – King Fisher Part V

This story in history is written with the hope that some of our politicians get to be enlightened and see that politics requires sincerity and truth and not otherwise. Virtue and benevolence is the foundation towards good politics and good governance and there can be no good strategy without this foundation.

Corruption and oppression of the people is the most evil of crime of all and history has repeatedly proven that it does not pay and I can quote you 1001 of such instances where it has failed when the values are not intact. It is with hope that these writings are able to change the mindset of our politicians and that there is still time for the wayward to repent and help transform positively this nation of ours which we all call home.

The Internal Security Act Must Be Abolished

There is no defence, no logical reason, for keeping the ISA in whatsoever form. This Act is Archaic and it is Draconian without a single doubt.

This Act has been misused and abused by UMNO for too many a times, they have use this Evil ACT (ISA) to stay in power, and have applied it generously without the slightest guilt and consideration, It has been used to lock up just about any Malaysian at their whim and fancy.

King Fisher II - The Era

King Fisher II – The Era

For a better grasp of the events in this story at this stage and time, which has a significant impact on the early history of China, producing many famous events, personalities and philosophies at the same time of Jiang Ziya, we will expand a bit more on the scenario and passage of this early history in order to have an overview and better understanding.

You will see here one of the most cruel tyrant in the history of China as in King Zi Shou and his concubine Daji being one of the most beautiful and influential maiden of the fame of the top four maidens in history.

King Wen of the Zhou to whom was accredited with the expansion of the science of the I Ching with the sequence of the 64 hexagram, and there was JiZi one of the princes of Shang who refused to come under the rule of Zhou than migrated with his army and later founded the early Korean states. And of course the progenitor of the Art of Strategy as in the Secret Teaching of Liu Tao from Jiang ZiYa (The Grand Duke of Zhou).

The King Fisher

“A Worthy Man Fishes for the World, a Mere Mortal Fishes for Fish and Prawns”
“Jiang Ziya – Duke of Zhou”

Let's digress a little bit from all the sickening racism and dirty politics and government oppression and police brutality that we have been bombarded with recently and look away back in to history and hopefully we could find some wisdom for all us mere mortals and hopefully some worthy man might drop in and be able to reconnect the way forward towards a better Malaysia.

We are going to look at some early political thinkers and the much profound wisdom that are omnipresent, times can change, things can change but the rudimental theory of political thought of good governance is constant in this changing world.

Crime and the City

(Photo from TV Smith) [Edit]

Crime and the City

Liza was driving alone on a weekday afternoon last month, about 3.30pm under the scorching Malaysian sun, right in the middle of the city, and came to a stop at the traffic light junction of Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Ampang, and on her left she could see the Ampang Police Station just next to City Square and Yow Chuan Plaza. She was her usual carefree and happy self listening to the radio while waiting for the lights to turn green and out of a sudden, she heard a loud crash as two men on a motor-cycle had pulled up along her vehicle, and smashed her car window, snatched her folder placed on the front passenger seat, which she had also put in her purse together with some documents. Liza was in total shock and frozen in her car, with debris of glass strewn all over her, and she had minor cuts in her hand and body from the flying glass.

A Tale of Two Tuns by Art Harun

This is easily one of the best writing of the year and will be my nomination for Best Article for 2009. Well done Art Harun.

Extract from his blog: "Articulations";

If I had the ability to invent something useful, I would love to invent a "Talk Cock Eater", which would work in the same manner as an odour eater. I would spray it on Tun Abdullah and watch him disappear after a few seconds.

For Tun Mahathir, I wish I had the ability to invent a virus. I could upload it on my laptop. It would then infect all computers in the world and erase all articles and writings by Tun Mahathir, his pictures and news about him and what he said. The virus would then come out into the air, infect everybody, and erase him from their memory.
How peaceful.
