Vote Wisely between Heaven and Hell...
While walking down the street one day a Malaysian Boleh Minister is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter . "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in," says the boleh Minister.
"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

Hulu Selangor Voters Turnout
The total voters turnout is looking at a healthy number of a 49557 or 75.87 % voters out of 64500 registered voters.
It is a healthy number at 75.87% as it will be more worrying if the turnout is any higher as a comparison on the previous two by-elections where numbers of voters turnout reported was at more than 80 % and the first one Pakatan at Manek Urai almost lost winning by a slim majority of about 60 votes and the Bagan Pinang Pakatan lost with an unexpected increased majority.
The estimate of voter turnout should be not more than 75 % (max) preferably at 70%, which will reflect the total average voting turnout trend. Every percentage change amounts to 645 voters and five percent equals to 3225 voters.
Will update later. having problem trying to load chart.
Update:
Ok got the chart up and got to run off.
The chart to look at is the voting time chart and it should be a smooth gradual flow without any spike and you will notice that there is one spike at the 4pm chart which almost double the numbers of the 3pm chart.
This spike has brought an additional of about 2500 votes or more.

Najib - Confident or Dumb?
This Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election is now a national referendum on the Prime Minister Najib Razak. Najib has himself declared the by-election a referendum; the Prime Minister has given this election distinct prominence by his declaration and his active involvement in the election campaign.
It has been customary that in any by-elections, the deputy prime minister leads the Barisan National alliance and by design act as a defence mechanism to the reputation and criticism of the party alienating the no.1 from any adverse negative repercussion.
It has been a surprise and shock to many when Najib made the pronouncement and took over the leadership of the campaign machinery. Even had his “boss” campaigning in the constituency and this could be a first for the Malaysian election history where the so called first lady took an active role running the ground campaign.
Either Najib is so sure of winning or he is really that dumb.
Najib has stolen the limelight in this by-election and it is now all about him and maybe his “boss” being included and this is exactly why the no.1 is traditionally not directly involved in any by-elections.
Many were shock at his announcement and some became highly suspicious on his show of confidence and questions begin to arise resulting in the opposing team having to review the strategic battle plan. But then on further contemplation it could just be out of a plain overdose of exuberance especially after meeting world famous leaders and being elevated.
There is now not much option open to Najib as if he loses this election, the pressure both outside and from inside of umno will mount on him. According to an old chinese proverb, "He has now been placed on the altar".
Tonight is the night! Tonight we will know whether Najib is Confident or He is just plain Dumb.
And if he is so confident than we will want to know why he is so confident or what has given him that confidence.
Keep your eye wide open to this Hulu Selangor polling day today, for Najib has led himself to a corner and things could get desperate.
The votes could just be overwhelming.

Electoral Fraud
If we are on a level playing field than there will be no reservation as to who will win but we are not on a level playing field. In this field even the Referee is playing against you.
For a free and fair election much is dependent on the independence of the Election Commission which is entrusted with the sacred duty to safeguard the rights of voters. In Malaysia the members of the commission are all appointees of umno and act to the wishes of their political masters.
It was reported that some 14,000 voters in Hulu Selangor have had their polling stations changed and moved to new polling stations without the voter’s knowledge and this can be construed as Electoral Fraud which includes transferring 228 voters out to a different constituency.
The Election Commission has up till today not provided an acceptable explanation. This is a blatant act by the election commission.
The EC had earlier announced the withdrawal of the accreditation of “MAFREL” the independent election watchdog and said that they will not be appointed for the Hulu Selangor by-election.
You can’t help but to relate the incidence of the dislodge voters and the “dismissal” of the election watchdog.
Polling day is on Sunday and what can be done to ensure that the voters get to exercise their constitutional rights to a fair vote.
There is much amiss with the Malaysian electoral system, for any electoral democracy to work the underlining requirement for a free press must be present whereas today all major TV and Radio stations, newspapers and most print media are in the control of the ruling parties and their cronies.
If Pakatan wants to win than it must seek to resolve the issue of the 14,000 voters.

Command Centre of Barisan National
Our return trip back to Kuala Kubu Bahru today and as we pass through the toll gate there was a Police check point. There are an increased in Police check points today all over the district of Hulu Selangor.
And as we approach the Barisan National Command Centre guess what we saw running past our car? Yup, another ambulance with flashing lights in a great hurry. In and arounfd the BN command centre you will see many ambulances running about.

Ambulance In An Election
One very common sight which you will see in the previous by-elections as well as this by-election in Hulu Selangor is the number of Ambulances on the road.
We suspect that these Ambulances are being used to ferry the umno people and when there is a traffic jam they will be blaring their sirens and cutting through traffic.

Poverty in Hulu Selangor
The many years of Barisan National rule over the nation has impoverished much of the populace and Hulu Selangor is one good example of the result of the umno led government.
If you were to travel out of the cities and to the rural districts like Hulu Selangor you will find much poverty like that of T.Devi, 38, who works in a palm oil estate and earns a combined incomed of a meagre 600 ringgit a month.

He is Principled because he is wearing a "Ketayap"!
Was browsing the news online and came across this report by the Malaysian Insider and almost got choked to death while reading and drinking a glass of water. The things that comes out of them and from a Prime Minister, you read on and and see what you make of it.
PM Najib says that Zulkifli Nordin is a principled man because he wears a "ketayap" ("kopiah"), thats an islamic cap or hat as in picture above.

Isa Won and UMNO Lost!
(Lost Chicken by Wan Imran)
Isa Won and UMNO Lost!
We came and saw, we did and knew, that it was an uphill task with all the machinery and money that was thrown in. This election is a more aggressive stance taken by umno and we saw a bit of it in Manek Urai, Kelantan, remember? In Manek Urai PAS had only won by a slim majority of 65 votes in 2009 when they had a bigger majority of 1352 votes in 2008. PAS nearly lost it in Manek Urai and that was a close call.
What we saw here in Bagan Pinang was the power of money as in Manek Urai, however the win here is the additional money power of Isa Samad and all he had to do is to buy oops! I mean win over another 1000 voters or so, which is nothing as compared to the 2500 delegates from the umno election.
There were much more hooliganism and gangsterism this time around and much more intimidating than in Manek Urai, we had real experiences and witnessed many of such incidents. This was an UMNO stronghold and had held this seat with the added support of the huge army or postal votes, of which there had always been much irregularities and a lack of transparency in the voting process of these postal votes. PAS was denied access to campaign in the army camps whereas UMNO unfairly campaign through the Defence Ministry. And the postal voting process were not fairly quantified and verified by the oppositions and even the independent monitors were not allowed to witness the postal voting process.
Isa Samad won this buy-election with a greatly increased majority of 5435 votes but sadly, UMNO lost. There were much hype and justification on the selection of Isa Samad as a candidate and the media spin that he was a popular candidate much loved by the people of Bagan Pinang was just that, a media spin. In Bagan Pinang any other reasonably suitable candidate from UMNO would have won but in Isa, they had the advantage of additional fire power of his money and maybe his ground networking being a local of the constituency. There was a lot of talk in coffee shops that the local “Tai Kors” and “Penghulus” and “Big Mundehs” were all very happy with the sudden windfall coming about from this buy-election.
UMNO lost in the fight against corruption and with the return of Isa Samad, a politician previously found guilty of corrupt practices in the UMNO party election, UMNO will lose much with this win by Isa Samad, it will be much more difficult to cleanse or change the image of the party which is widely seen as a party of warlords and money, and this win by Isa will only endorsed the strength and power of the corrupt and as any right thinking individual will not seek to be elected after being dismissed for corrupt practices but than again it looks like “UMNO boleh” as in UMNO only the corrupt has the power and money to dictate and all else matters not.
This win by Isa Samad had reinforced the image of corruption of the political party of UMNO. UMNO had endorsed corrupt practices and will not change. Any attempt to change in UMNO will now be seen as purely cosmetic and an act of deception.
And this is not to say that Pakatan Rakyat did well as all the time Pakatan Rakyat is just the only convenient alternative, the battle is just UMNO and UMNO and that is all, if Pakatan wins its just that UMNO lost and not so much as a Pakatan winning. So for now it is still an UMNO's Lost.
In fact there were not much of Pakatan Rakyat to be seen in Bagan Pinang, there were only PAS and looks like PAS was like working alone and even the local PAS was not much of a presence. The only time there was Pakatan Rakyat was only in ceramahs when the stars visited and went entertaining the huge crowds of supporters that came to visit crowding out every star studded ceramahs of Pakatan Rakyat.
Nevertheless, the UMNO machinery was impressive working the grounds, quietly and silently behind the shadows under the moonlit nights of PD. Their crowd was not as visible as the PAS people or supporters but whatsoever, these UMNO people were in constant work all throughout. And even during polling day we noticed dozens of UMNO vehicle tirelessly ferrying voters to the polling booth and my partner Ee Chia constantly reminding me of these private vehicles running up and down the polling centres quietly and silently. And herein lays the difference in expertise and professional work.

The Figures of Bagan Pinang
(Photo from Wan Imran)
The Figures of Bagan PinangLet’s look at the figures of Bagan Pinang as from the last election of 2008, for this Bagan Pinang state seat will show that there was a voter turnout of 10,527 voters or 77.04% of the total registered voters amounting to 13,664.
Out of the total registered voters of 13,664, there are 4,604 postal votes of which 4,571 are voters from the soldiers in the army. The total postal votes make out 33.69% of the total registered voters of 13,664. The turnout for the total postal votes was at 4,269 votes or 92.72% of the total postal votes of 4,604.
Let us look at the civilian votes as follows; 13,664 total registered voters less postal voters at 4,604 equals to total civilian voters at 9,060. And in 2008 UMNO received 3,080 of postal votes and PAS obtained 1,189 postal votes of the total postal voters turnout of 4,269, that equates to only a total of civilian voters turnout at 6,258 voters or 69.07% of the total civilian voters (10,527 voters turnout – 4,269 postal votes turnout = 6,258 civilian voters turnout ).
Check out the real strength of the postal voters as follows; total postal voters of 4,604 and the turnout is at 4,269 or 92.72% of total postal voters of which UMNO obtained 3,080 votes or 72.15% and PAS has 1,189 or 27.85% of total postal votes.
Postal votes in Bagan Pinang, makes up a crucial 40.55% of the total voters turnout of 10,527 voters as in the 2008 general election and is a significant force and that the Election Commission must be seen to be independent, transparent and fair, and address any complaints or disputes and seen to be honest and of the highest integrity and be accountable to the people of this nation.
For PAS to win they will need to focus on increasing the civilian voters turnout and thus reducing the impact from postal votes, if the civilian turnout is 80% (80% X 9060 = 7248 civilian voters turnout), than they will have to capture around 60% (60% X 7248 = 4349 civilian votes) of that turnout of civilian voters. And to reinforced their support from the servicemen and maybe increased that support to about 35% from the 27.85% in the 2008 general election and than PAS might just edge out UMNO and win this election.
So how are PAS approaching this election as time is running out and what are they doing about reaching out and addressing the concern of the voting soldiers? Please note that the concern of the soldiers are that they can vote in secrecy against umno and as such if PAS can assure the soldiers that their vote will be in confidence than...
In this Bagan Pinang by-election the Election Commission is under the spotlight and will need to address the long time grouses and complaints from the people as to their independence and EC should open up and be transparent and truthful to the people and country.
"Should the postal votes be abolished as we are not at war or in emergency. It was meant for our servicemen in the jungles during the Emergency and the war against the communists."

Election Commission Must be Transparent!
Anwar yesterday called on the Election Commission (EC) to undertake pro-active steps to overcome negative public perception the constituency's postal vote rolls.
“EC should clean up and update the postal vote list and allow representatives from all contesting parties to observe its balloting process.
“The postal votes shall also be counted at the polling station immediately after the balloting was over.
“I don't see any difficulties in EC fulfilling these demands,” said the Pakatan Rakyat leader, stressing that EC was duty bound to uphold democratic electoral process.
He said although Pakatan was confident of giving BN and Umno a tough fight at the by-election, "the postal voters remained a major obstacle to victory.”

We Want a Clean and Fair Election
Bagan Pinang is one of the four state seats in the parliamentary constituency of Teluk Kemang in Port Dickson of Negeri Sembilan and the only state seat held by UMNO in the Parliamentary of Teluk Kemang. The Election Commission has fixed October 11 (Sunday) for the polling day and nomination of candidates is on October 3 (Saturday). There has been inconsistency in the fixing of polling days in the recent past few by-elections with polling days being fixed on a working weekday in opposition held seats.
There are a total of 13,644 registered voters in this state by election of which 4,604 voters are registered as postal votes making up a big share of 33.74% of the total votes. There have been many constant grouses on the anomalies of postal votes and one of the concerns raised by Bersih (Coalition for Clean and Fair Election) an alliance of about 70 civil society organization and several political parties which held a mammoth rally of about 100,000 peaceful protesters in November of 2007 calling for clean and fair election.

Moohyidin Will Win Permatang Pasir

And as usual the Deputy Prime Minister who is spearheading the Permatang Pasir By Election will Win it for PAS and Pakatan Rakyat.
His selection of a defective candidate is a brilliant move, his attack on the Bar Council for the disbarment of his selected candidate is again highly intellectual.
And of course, thousands and thousands of police officers did not work in the last few elections and this time he brings in more fire power to incite fear and a show of force that he is powerful and so the people will admire him more.
And old habits die hard, they continue to bribe, the people with offerings of monies taken from the rakyat and empty promises of development and of "Anak Emas??" what the shit is that? they really think Malaysians are stoopid like cow or what?
Not forgetting, holding elections on Tuesday so that the people can be inconvenienced.
And of course he again attacks the beloved sage MB of the people of Kelantan and that will be it as he is out of league here and showed his bravery (or stupidity) by attacking the sage Tok Guru.
He Moo Moo here and Moo Moo there and the people can't understand all the din he is making and you can bet your last dollar that he is sure to WIN this election for PAS of Pakatan Rakyat.
And did he flew in by private Jet and Helicopters again this time? Won't be surprised if he did.
Good Work Moo!
Pakatan just need to sit back, relax and watch the funny show. All these elections are becoming good entertainment for the nation as a respite from the economic hardship caused by these cartoons. Oh! Golly! watch out for funny tricks during polling day.

Permatang Pasir - Another Tuesday

Why is another Election on another Tuesday as announced by the Election Commission Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof?
The Commission has announced Nomination day to be on 17th August which is a Monday and Polling day on the 25th August falling on a Tuesday.
The Commission has announced Nomination day to be on 17th August which is a Monday and Polling day on the 25th August falling on a Tuesday.
This is beyond common understanding, it is unusual that the commission is consistently holding election day on a working day for the previous few by-election.
Isn't it a common precept to have polling day on a weekend or a holiday so that it is convenient for voters to come back to vote? And on weekend it will not disrupt the normal course of business and work.
Why must it be a Tuesday and a working day?

Manek Urai - Unbelievable!

When i was first told that the voter turnout was at 84% at 3 pm i exclaimed that this cannot be and that it is unbelievable and especially not on a working Tuesday and in a by election in a small district of kampongs and that i must get to a computer to blog about this and that is what i did earlier.
Even though Tok Guru declared a public holiday for civil servants in the state of Kelantan there cannot be such a record breaking turnout of voters as half of the voters work out of the district of Manek Urai and most are out of the states of Kelantan and are not expected to return to vote as it is a working day as purposely pick by the election commission instead of making polling day on a weekend which is the more logical choice but for reason best known to them they pick an odd day right in the middle of the week.

No way is this small district of Manek Urai going to break all election records for voters turnout and especially in a by election on a working day, and to my surprise the reported voters turnout broke all election records as the highest numbers ever surpassing any constituency in a general election in the peninsula. It was earlier estimated that half of the 12,293 voters are young and working adults making about 6000 voters and it was expected that at most only half return to vote than the voters turnout are expected to be at the very most at 75%, but at 87.3% is way beyond any analyst's estimate and analysis and is quite unbeliveable.
Nevertheless, lets look at the events in this by election, right from the beginning when the EC (Election Commission) announced the election date on a working Tuesday, we were already complaining that this is unfair and unjust and that all elections should be made convenient to the voters and should always be on a weekend or on a public holiday. And than one of the umno division heads in Kelantan came out with a statement that says that their supporters (umno supportrers) in Manek Urai are mostly young adults and are working out of the state and polling date being fixed on a working day will reduce the voters turnout of their supporters. And we felt that what is this guy talking about as most of the PAS and Pakatan supporters or the new voters are younger working adults and not the reverse as stated by this umno dividion head. Umno supporters are mostly the older and mostly traditional voters of old and that the younger new voters are in fact influencing the older generations to change their votes to Pakatan.
And during the by- election of today there were numerous reports of fake EC officials in the various polling centers and even some were caught and reported to the police but no further information was available as whether they were detained or investigated by the police. And there were also reports of fake Ec officers caught by the PAS people and that they were carrying bags of ballot papers after polling hours and during vote counting. As at now no further information was available and could not be verified, however they were reported by various sources.
There were also various report of monies being paid out to voters. (Read HERE).
However and whatsoever the results shows that Pakatan must be ever more alert and not be complacent and need to regroup and be more tactical and strategic in their overall approach, but before they can be strategic they must first get organized as they have shown lately that they are not so or maybe it could all be a show of weakness to lure the opponent to come out in to the open. Whatever it can be, it does not seem convincing from a strategic viewpoint and need further thoughts and details to the many opportunities that will soon be presented.
PAS could take a post mortem and cleanse out the party of turncoats and flush out all the umno infiltration and spies. PKR could take this opportunity to do an analytical examination of themselves.
This by election looks like the damn HAZE in Kuala Lumpur. *cough *cough

It Sure Took A Long Long Time

It sure took a long time to come to this, it has taken 100 days to find out that we need crime prevention and that we need to fight corruption and etc with no details or plans on how to achieve this and as though like it is a new discovery.
But first, change the language and back to bahasa for maths and science (after spending years and millions of ringgit) at least until the next PM comes along and maybe we should have new language or elective language. Is BN all about the PMs, out goes the all talk only sleepy head and in come another all talk and more talk new Prime Minister and his talk are decorated with celebrations and event launches like some kind of new anti dandruff shampoo.
100 days goodies? The poor and lower income people don’t use Smart Tag or Touch and Go and to use it for 80 times so that they will qualify for a 20% discount? You guys are expert in making things complex don’t you? Who are your advisers? Mr. PM, you better sack them all and get new ones.
Sale of low cost houses a big deal, and through all these years we are still struggling with this topic of low cost housing? Just give them the houses in lieu of rental lah and stop making all this fuss as you don’t have enough low cost houses to go around for all the low income people.
Taxi permits? You mean from the time of the sleepy head until now you guys are still trying to give out these permits, go talk to the taxi drivers yourself and hear what they have to say about getting your permits, those that I have spoken to condemns it and says that there are too many conditions that they can’t meet and some says that they need political recommendations from BN.
Reducing cost to obtain motorcycle license to RM 211? Come on… just give it to the poor for free or at a token fee, RM211 is a lot of money to the poor and lower income earner.
Most of these goodies so announced are things to be done in the norm, like birth registration and citizenship applications, are all these things something new or what? Fighting crime and corruption and alleviating the hardship of the people are one of the priorities of the government and up till today we still don’t have any detail action plan other than just making an announcement on the subject. To be truthful in fighting corruption the Malaysia Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) must be made fully independent and seen to be independent and sad to say at this point in time this does not seem to be the case. And yes it was a good timing to announce the fight on corruption at the same time a former state Mentri Besar blatantly flaunt his wealth to the Malaysian public by building a purportedly 20 or 30 million ringgit palace for himself and yet the authorities pretends not to know of this and are turning their head the other way.
Good Work Khir! When is the open house?
The 1Malaysia comes with a slogan that reads “Justice for All” and after reading all the multiple pages of hype by all the government controlled media it still does not say much and you can’t help but think that there were 2 or 3 or more different type of Malaysia in the past?
The people never had any problem on unity, we, the people gets along well and fine and recognizes that there is only one universal race on this planet and that is the Human Race (says Michael Jackson) and it is the politicians who is trying to create all the mistrust and are propagating disunity and thinks that they can control the people and hold on to power through the old political adage of “divide and rule” (also said by Michael Jackson).
If the slogan “Justice for All” is true and sincere than give the country and the people real justice and democracy by clear separation of powers of the judiciary and that judges are independently appointed and not put in place by the PM and politicians, and all top post like the IGP (Inspector General of Police), as it is today BN has shown to have already seizes power and controls all the functions of democracy and has turned this nation into an Authoritarian state.
The people are not fools and stupid and could easily see through all the smart talks and insincerity, even the people of Manek Urai a sleepy hollow, can tell us this when we were there and don’t think that fishmongers and rubber tappers don’t care or are ignorant and are oblivious to all your doings and be fooled by your empty promises, you should really hear them out and not for them to hear you talk, talk, talk and talk.
To Muhyiddin, the people of Manek Urai says thank you and you can keep your bridge, who do you think we are? Donkeys? (This is a form of bribery)
Come this Tuesday, the people of Manek Urai will speak for the nation and tell you what they think of your dirty and manipulative politics.
