China's a Bad Example

Photo of the China Central Television Building in Beijing
(A massive building of amazing architecture)

Was unable to access the blogs or most of any blogs especially from blogspot or wordpress as i was in China. So my apologies for not updating here in this blog.

Am travelling again all over Asia and was last in Beijing, China and now in Singapore, won't be back until next weekend.

This Chinese government is not good for the modern world of basic human rights and freedom of information or almost any other freedom as i suppose these conservative goverment officials practice differing standards when it comes to human rights. There are some quarters in the Beijing government that propagates positive reforms for greater freedom and democracy however they are discreet about their ideals and their displeasures are kept to a whisper.

You can access the blogs and to the free world of the cyberspace from China but you will require to download some free program from "Freegate" or access the internet through a "VPN" network which a lot of the affluent chinese do but for a visitor like myself might just find it too troublesome or not find the time to set it up.

This chinese government have imposed very harsh internet censorship under extreme laws and regulations and i laud the move by Google to move out of China and because of this move by Google i am going to show my support for Freedom of Information by using any Google products or services. Well Done Google!

Someone suggested a movement of a global boycott of Chinese products to add pressure for this bad example to basic human rights on Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Information. Well.. we will see as this boycott could be exciting and will find much support from the develop world.

China is not good for the progressive world of human rights and basic freedom and showing a very bad example and this could just catch on with other autocratic governments. The world must tell China that this is not right.

A recent report from Forbes suggest that the international community of the  Global Network Initiative(GNI) oppose the chinese government as in their report of 27 May 2010 HERE. (Must Read).

PS. Of course i am aware of the happenings in my beautiful Malaysia and stay tuned for my 2 sense worth.

No Matter Where You Go,
There You Are.."

Najib..Stop Embarassing the Nation!

Malaysia is now also known as "Sodomy Country". You just can't imagine the jokes that goes around here in Singapore. Yes, i am in Singapore for a week now and everyday this sodomy is all over the media both in print and on TV as well as a topic over lunch, happy hours and dinner.

There are pages and pages of reports everyday in the foreign press. This is such a bad joke that it is embarassing and to talk about Najib's New Economy Policy which is now the New Sodomy Poke-a-nomy which has Najib written all over it.

Vote Wisely between Heaven and Hell...

While walking down the street one day a Malaysian Boleh Minister is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter . "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the boleh Minister.

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

Hulu Selangor Voters Turnout

The total voters turnout is looking at a healthy number of a 49557 or 75.87 % voters out of 64500 registered voters.

It is a healthy number at 75.87% as it will be more worrying if the turnout is any higher as a comparison on the previous two by-elections where numbers of voters turnout reported was at more than 80 % and the first one Pakatan at Manek Urai almost lost winning by a slim majority of about 60 votes and the Bagan Pinang Pakatan lost with an unexpected increased majority.

The estimate of voter turnout should be not more than 75 % (max) preferably at 70%, which will reflect the total average voting turnout trend. Every percentage change amounts to 645 voters and five percent equals to 3225 voters.

Will update later. having problem trying to load chart.

Update:
Ok got the chart up and got to run off.
The chart to look at is the voting time chart and it should be a smooth gradual flow without any spike and you  will notice that there is one spike at the 4pm chart which almost double the numbers of the 3pm chart.
This spike has brought an additional of about 2500 votes or more.

Najib - Confident or Dumb?

This Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election is now a national referendum on the Prime Minister Najib Razak. Najib has himself declared the by-election a referendum; the Prime Minister has given this election distinct prominence by his declaration and his active involvement in the election campaign.

It has been customary that in any by-elections, the deputy prime minister leads the Barisan National alliance and by design act as a defence mechanism to the reputation and criticism of the party alienating the no.1 from any adverse negative repercussion.

It has been a surprise and shock to many when Najib made the pronouncement and took over the leadership of the campaign machinery. Even had his “boss” campaigning in the constituency and this could be a first for the Malaysian election history where the so called first lady took an active role running the ground campaign.

Either Najib is so sure of winning or he is really that dumb.

Najib has stolen the limelight in this by-election and it is now all about him and maybe his “boss” being included and this is exactly why the no.1 is traditionally not directly involved in any by-elections.

Many were shock at his announcement and some became highly suspicious on his show of confidence and questions begin to arise resulting in the opposing team having to review the strategic battle plan. But then on further contemplation it could just be out of a plain overdose of exuberance especially after meeting world famous leaders and being elevated.

There is now not much option open to Najib as if he loses this election, the pressure both outside and from inside of umno will mount on him. According to an old chinese proverb, "He has now been placed on the altar".

Tonight is the night! Tonight we will know whether Najib is Confident or He is just plain Dumb.

And if he is so confident than we will want to know why he is so confident or what has given him that confidence.

Keep your eye wide open to this Hulu Selangor polling day today, for Najib has led himself to a corner and things could get desperate.

The votes could just be overwhelming.

Thuggery in Hulu Selangor

Magick River

We were at Pakatan Rakyat's closing ceramah at the KKB mini-stadium where more than 50,000 were gathered to mark the end of the intense campaign for the Ulu Selangor parliamentary seat. It was a heady, jubilant atmosphere charged with positive feelings about the outcome of this massively significant "referendum" on the nation's political future.

Because of the immense crowd, me and my friends opted to leave the stadium before Anwar had finished his fiery speech. When we got back to Kg Pertak, we were shocked to find the entrance blocked by a group of men who had parked a couple of motorbikes across the road.

A couple of Temuan youth had been assigned RELA T-shirts and flashlights and instructed to stop people from entering the village. A group of imported Umno heavies (some from Pekida it appears) stood around to provide additional muscle power.

What's utterly sickening is the vicious and violent energy Najib's goons have brought to Malaysian politics. Never have I witnessed such despicable strategies, born of abject fear of losing power.
