Malaysia - Snail of Asean

Guess who is one of the more sluggish economic growth of the Asean countries for the year 2010? Well... yes, Malaysia is one of the slowest growing economies in Asean, falling behind countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Loas and Myanmar.

The slowest growth as forecast for 2010 is Brunei at only 0.6% growth and next is Malaysia at 2 to 3 percent growth as recently announced in the Budget 2010 and they can't even get to the decimal point and looks like a guesstimate. And for the purpose of charting as above it is listed at 2.5% economic growth for next year, (taking the middle ground from the government projection of 2% to 3%).

But Malaysia can not be compared to Brunei as Brunei is a one of most wealthy country and the highest ranking in terms of per capita income of USD 36,681.00 (as at 2009 IMF forecast) where Malaysia has a meager USD 7,469.00 annual per capita income in Asean.

And as it was in the 70s and early 80s when we were one of the leading economically progressive countries and were up in front of countries like Singapore, Brunei, South Korea and even Taiwan but today....Sigh.

We are now way behind in the economic race of nations and almost last in Asean, ok lah... second last.

And credit must go to UMNO for continuing to screw up the political and economic landscape, scaring off both local and foreign investors with their domination of all the democratic institutions, making a mockery of our judicial system, creating fear and suppressing the growth of democracy and civil society. They control and dictate almost all business sectors and industries in the countries with their Cronies, GLCs (Government Link Companies) and Sovereign Funds taking it all away from the public and private sector. And their massive corruption growing like cancer eating away the wealth of the rakyat (people).

UMNO has always ben the anchor in BN since independance. The true spirit of struggle has eroded along these years, especially during Mahathir's regime.
Now UMNO is going through some reform. I am skeptical as you. The GLCs , STate Economic Corporations are set up so that UMNO has multiple streams of income.Every employee from peons to CEOs must be UMNO supporters.
Long LIVE UMNO.
You say no FDIs coming. But shoe making companies from mainland China are queing up to get listed in KLSE.Now the MAXIS listing is said to be largest IPO in Asean !
So you see. We don't need FDIs.
Thanks to UMNO. Malaysia is the Education hub.Students from China, Africa are heading to study in our private colleges which are all being upgraded to universities. We have more than 450 IPTS.

Malaysia is Halal food Hub.
Malaysia is Islamic Banking Hub.
Even Hong Leong,Public Bank, OCBC, Citibank, Standard Chartered all wany to instantly become champions of Islam.
Prudencial, Great Eastern, AIA also want to be leaders in Takaful planning. What a great achievement.
NOn-muslim financial houses are embracing Islam in 21 centuary when you, my dear is schemeing and dreaming on UMNO's downfall.
Good Dream.

Hi umar,

I did not say no FDI's incoming, it is the umno govt who says so and in fact PM Najib mentioned in his Budget speech and he is only stating a known fact.

Our total investments are dropping at an alarming proportions and show that there are much economic weaknesses in the system which in my opinion are politically linked.

As for companies from China being listed here? haha You have to understand that these companies from China are rejects and not wanted elsewhere.

Why list here where the shares are not even being traded as can be seen in recent listings.

Maxis listing? Check the recent history of Maxis being brought private. Only can happen here in thie country.

We are far from being world standard with Education, Halal and even Islamic Banking Hubs as you so say. All insignificant contributions to the economy.

And you even dare to mentioned the daylight robbery being committed by UMNO and GLCs.

I would like to believe you that UMNO or BN can deliver the best for the people but sorry to say that they are evil and causes hardship and even deaths to the people and are beyond redemption.

What i am saying are not stories that i made up but the facts and the truths as plainly seen all over.

I am not scheming or dreaming as i know it for a fact that UMNO will self destruct and it is only a natural cause of action. It will be too long a story to give you all the details and evidence but with patience you too will see the plain truth if you only open up your mind and heart.

Our nation is losing every race in the region and we are losing billions of ringgit to corruptions and the people can only get poorer.

Support umno and help bring down this country of ours if you thing it right.

Do not be fooled for selfish gains just bcoz you get a few paltry ringgit for your support. Don't sell your soul to this evil as you will suffer a retribution for failing to see the truth and turning away the good.

Truth will Prevail.
